It’s been a couple of weeks since Combat Night’s Clash of the Titans where Juanky stepped into the cage for the 15th time. But this time was different, this was the first time he had entered the cage as a Pro!!!
As Juanky, a Coach, loyal friend, teammate and integral part of the gym, appeared through the tunnel, the team’s heart felt love and support for him was evident. Black Boxx had undoubtably the largest (and loudest haha) crowd in attendance and each and every person’s excitement was visibly apparent as Bad Bunny’s ‘P FKN R’ blasted around the room.
The first round was incredible with Juanky looking the best he had ever looked, extremely comfortable, composed and almost finishing the fight on several occasions.
The 2nd round started much like the first with Juanky dominating in all aspects, then 4 minutes and 22 seconds into the round the finish came by way of guillotine.
The crowd rose to their feet, not just to celebrate Juanky’s successful pro debut but to show respect to both him and his opponent on an incredible fight. Coaches Glenn, Mike, Lynzie, Lakea, Fernando, Icon & Mark, who had each dedicated so much of their time, couldn’t have been happier for Juanky as were his entire team who cheered till he left the cage, and beyond.
His journey hasn’t always been easy but he never walked away from a tough opponent or ever took an easy fight and on Saturday 24th July 2021, a date that will remain in our heads, it was worth every second, every lesson learned, every moment of pain and every celebration. On this day, it came together and as a team we celebrate (oh did we celebrate) Juanky and the new chapter that has just started for him…..
